I am a Provisionally Registered Psychologist who has spent the bulk of my life living here, on Treaty 6 territory. I obtained a Bachelor of Education and worked as an educator and school-counsellor for many years before completing a Masters in Counselling at City University of Seattle. I have worked in a variety of settings including non-profit community agencies, a centre for domestic violence, private practice and within the education system in a variety of roles.
I believe that each of us has the power to grow, heal and live a better life, when we have the right tools. Not all of us have access to the tools we need and don't just learn them naturally. Sometimes we have to learn about the science behind our emotions or distress, to figure out how to lessen their impact. I am honoured to help my clients through times of distress so they can live their best lives. Life is too short to be stressed out all the time! I work from an eclectic base utilizing various therapeutic philosophies and techniques depending on my clients' needs, and work collaboratively with my clients to ensure we are targeting what they want to work on!
Choosing who you want to work with is a very personal choice, as not all therapists are created equally. If you have read this far and are considering therapy, do not hesitate to reach out. I would be honoured to help you on your healing journey!
At Ground Up Psychology, we believe that therapy should honour the full context of who you are—your culture, community, and lived experience. Our practice is grounded in cultural humility and an anti-oppressive framework that recognizes how systemic inequities shape mental health. We strive to create a space where every story is valued, every voice is heard, and healing reflects the wisdom of diverse identities and traditions. Our goal is not just personal growth, but collective well-being and justice.
